Sometimes ministering to teens can be a challenge, that is why this ministry
is geared specifically towards teens, by teens and young adults. Discover Ministries is a ministry of college students who wish to share their gifts with the Church’s Youth. Rooted in solid Catholic Theology, Discover
Ministries offers a wide variety of “Ministries” to assist your
youth group.
Pope John Paul II has given us the challenge to minister to young people
by identifying the Church’s youth as having a deep and authentic desire to know the Truth. Our kids are in need of the Truth and they want to find it. Yet
it can be difficult to reach a teenager when the world is giving them many different types of “truth.” The strength of Discover Ministries is its peer-to-peer approach. We have a unique ability to relate to teens because we are still teenagers or have
just passed the teenage years ourselves. By sharing our own journeys of faith
and our own struggles, we believe that we can help other young people to “discover” God and His plan for their
lives! The use of a retreat team can is important to your youth group because sometimes the leaders in your community
don’t get a chance to be led. Our ministry team can be their chance to
grow in their faith together with their peers.
Our services include Talks,
Retreats, and Music Ministry. Our talk topics include Confirmation, The Eucharist, Vocations, The Holy Spirit, Chastity,
and Dating, among others. Our “Discover” weekend retreats or
days of reflection help young people to see how God is already at work in their lives and offer practical steps to how they
can seek and find a deeper and more personal relationship with Him. We also offer
“Discover” nights: a unique ministry that incorporates music and talks on a topic you can select
in a one night session. Our Music Ministry is comprised of musicians who play
a variety of styles - from Contemporary Christian Rock, to traditional Church Hymns teens will recognize from Mass - and can
be a delightful addition to the celebration of the Eucharist, Eucharistic Adoration, or “Prayer and Praise” Nights
(Worship Nights), which enable your youth to enjoy the Christian music they like in a context of prayer and worship.
We offer all these services and are
willing to do anything else you feel may help your youth group. We do this in order to share the faith has
